I swear, it makes me want to spit! I've learned more this summer about using html code than I even knew was possible. Just about every time I've gone to post, there's been something wrong with the photo size, there's been something wrong with the layout, there's been something wrong with size, etc. My sweet husband hears me huffing and puffing in the other room. He always checks on me but it's usually no big deal but I just get so frustrated! Thankfully, there are incredible tutorials to teach you anything you want to know!
A special thanks goes to Just For Daisy for her amazing Blog Button with a Grab Box tutorial. If you didn't notice, I now have a blog button with a grab box.
I've loved vintage clothes since I can remember picking out clothes. Let's say...10. A sweet grandma from my church gave me the coolest sweater ever at her garage sale and I was hooked! I still have that sweater & I hope I never have to let it go. (I was apparently swimming in it when I was 10...)
I dream about vintage clothes. I often wake up sad I don't actually own the cool things I dream about. I talk to clothes when I shop. I want to save them. I want someone who will love them to have them. I'm always sad when I have to leave something vintage behind. I feel the need to apologize to them.... ,"Aww, I love you, Pretty Red Dress. I hope some other fantastic girl finds you and falls in love with your vintage awesomeness." I've exclaimed inside my head, "This skirt is so awesome. It's like Jackie Burkhart on That 70's Show. Too bad it has to stay here because it doesn't fit me." I have to stop myself from rescuing beautiful things....
These are the kinds of amazing vintage things I have in my closet and have worn with love...but unfortunately, no longer fit.....I can't let go:
Absolutely darling for Christmas. As a matter of fact, I wore it multiple times as an elf in our community Christmas parade.
This made me feel so Audrey Hepburn - Jackie O
I posted something on facebook recently....
"Sometimes, I get a random daydream. For example: "What would it be like
to have my own vintage etsy shop?" And sometimes... I talk myself right
back out of it. Maybe someday?"
Feedback I got was favorable. What's holding me back???
Me. I'm holding me back... I'm chicken. My brain starts into high-gear Anxiety Girl.
"What if no one likes what I sell? What if I don't get to the post office in time? What if I end up spending more money than I make? What if it's too hard? What if I quit? What if I'm the only one who thinks my stuff is worth selling? Is it worth my trouble? My picture taking skills are kinda terrible... What if I can't figure out how to work PayPal? I'm a teacher dang-it. What if people think I don't like teaching? What if I like clothes more than teaching? I probably don't like clothes more than teaching. I get equally passionate. Can I love both? I think I love both Oh dear....HELP!"
See? That's what. My brain keeps me from going for the gusto. Maybe if I put it out there... someone will say the right thing to clear up my questions? I should definitely do more praying about it. I should definitely ask Jesus for more guidance. He's wise. If anyone lacks wisdom, let them ask for it. Right?
Many folks know I'm a tv junkie. I don't have cable. Never have. But I can watch some dang tv. I talk to the tv. I talk to the characters. When frustrated, I have thrown my house shoe at my tv. It's serious, folks.
I'm linking up with the sweet Neely and Ashley for their supah-fun Sunday Social. Let's get it started in hee-yah!
This week's questions:
Favorite TV show of the past:
My mom and I used to watch Gilmore Girls, Popular, and Everwood. We were big Everwood folk. I specifically remember my momma telling me she hoped I would find a nice, artistic, musical boy like Ephram. After meeting my husband... well, good call mom. Good call.
Other favorites include the ever popular Friends and One Tree Hill. That is a dang good show. I felt like I grew up with the characters.
Favorite TV show
currently:
Well, OTH just ended. *sad face* I loved Ringer and it got cancelled. So... now I'm waiting on a new season of Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie, Parenthood, and Once Upon a Time. I'm still a WB/CW fan. I also enjoy Law & Order SVU. It's the best of the Law & Order series.
Which Reality Show would you NEVER do?
All of them are stupid. I stink at physical challenges. I think the "find love" reality shows are frustrating. Can I just say, I have no business in reality tv? Is that too much of a cop-out? I love to watch drama on tv. It's quite entertaining.
Which Reality Show
would you LOVE to do?
I think if talk shows count as reality, I'd like to go meet Wendy Williams. "How you doin'?" Pretty sure homegirl is fabulous! The hair, the makeup, the shoes... she's just like a chatty friend I need to have.
Also, let me just say, I enjoy watching So You Think You Can Dance, Big Brother, The Glass House, America's Got Talent, and Excused. Important sidenote: I like to watch them. I don't want to be on them.
(Iliza Schlesinger makes me laugh and I think she pretty & witty)
TV
personality/character that you feel is most like you?
A cross between Phoebe and Rachel- Phoebe's free-spirited hippy lady and Rachel's clothes-loving shopping lady.
Oh-oh! And I am definitely the Zooey Deschanel's character on New Girl. It's sorta ridiculous how many times I've watched a clip and thought, been there done that. Want the cute outfit.
TV character you'd want to date?
Haha. My husband frequently makes comparisons between himself and Dr. Sheldon Cooper of The Big Bang Theory. (He's recently noticed Sheldon's shirts and ordered a similar one.)
I also really like Pam and Jim on The Office. Jim's humor and practical jokes remind me a lot of my husband.
Most people are grillers - burgers & hot dogs - not my family. Mom made amazingly delicious burritos and a beautiful salad.
Then we chit chatted the afternoon away before we headed to my husband's family.
My sweet nephew - love this face!
My husband generally makes a non-photo face. Love that guy.

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32
“Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. 39 Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses." Acts 13:38-39
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use
your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another
humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Galatians 5:13-14

11 THINGS ABOUT ME:
1. I make wishes as 11:11, 12:34, and sometimes on my birthday time, 6:14. I kinda believe they work if you make the same wish enough times.
2. I think you can never have too many friends. I love people and I like making friends.
3. I miss shows like Jenny Jones, Ricki Lake, the Old Jerry Springer- before the ridiculousness; what life's like as a little person, etc.
4. I often want to quit things I really enjoy when the going gets tough. I get too easily frustrated and overwhelmed. Examples include blogging, dancing, and teaching. Again, let me reiterate: I REALLY enjoy and feel passionately regarding all of these things but when I get overwhelmed, I tend to shut down completely. Thankfully, I have people who refuse to let me give up.
5. I'm a fan of Hello Kitty. I try to keep the collection to a minimum as I don't want to be the "crazy Hello Kitty Lady".
6. At 18, I cut my over 10 inches from my hair because of a life change. When I was 20, my mom dyed my hair pink. When I was 26, I had an "age crisis" and dyed two purple streaks in my hair. During my first year of marriage, I dyed two blonde, "Rogue" streaks in my hair. All my life changes and struggles end up changing my hair.
7. I worry way too much.
8. I'm a creature of habit. I'm not a big fan of change. Predictability is my friend.
9. I could watch tv all day. I often do in the summer. I know the tv schedule starting at 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 a.m. I understand if you're judging this. Keep in mind, we don't have cable.
10. I hate when people say, "Don't Forget..." I'd much rather hear, "Remember..." It's so much more polite and less bossy.
11. If I weren't a teacher and my dad wouldn't have a lawl-eyed fit, I'd have my nose pierced. (Sidenote: I realize I'm an adult so it shouldn't be a big deal if my dad has a cow but I respect my dad and I like my job.)
Emily's 11 QUESTIONS FOR TAGGED:
1. Do you have any nicknames?
Jana Banana, Groeney (maiden-name nickname from co-workers), Jinga (from my mom), Bam-Bam from my dad & sister
2. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
BlueBell Home made Vanilla and Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia
3. What is your favorite animal?
I am allergic to most kind of animals with fur. I like dogs & cats. We have an outside kitty named Tabby Cleo. I like leopard print. I'm in a Wolf Pack. So.... animals are just cute.
4. If you could choose three words to describe yourself, what would they be?
Christian, confident, teacher
5. What do you do? (School, work, own your own business, etc.)
I teach first grade.
6. What is the youngest age you can remember back to?
3? 4? 5? I'm actually not sure....
7. Are you married/have kids?
My husband and I are about to celebrate our first anniversary. We do not have any children except the ones in my class. :o)
8. Do you dream? What are they like?
My favorite sleeping dreams have included clothes from the time I was a child. I dream about vintage clothes, the mall, thrift stores , yard sales and flea markets. Bad dreams include 2 specific people from my past and tend to happen when I'm stressed out.
9. How many songs do you have on your iPod/phone/MP3 player?
807 songs
10. What's your favorite thing to wear?
Mercy, it depends on when you ask me. Right this second, my pajamas. Later today, it'll probably be jeans. During the school year, long skirts or pants. I really like clothes. I often have a theme behind many outfits. Oh, I love clothes!
11. If you could do anything in the world right now, (no money worries), what would it be?
Open a vintage clothing store... get a room built for my husband...then visit a foreign country or 10
