Being Social on a Sunday

1. What is the name of your blog and how did you come up with it??
When I was younger I used to say, "If I ever had my own clothing line, it would have Every Day is Your Runway as it's tagline."  You never know who is watching you. Your life is on display - your runway - so to speak. It's not just about your appearance, your fashion, your style, but your personality, your morals, your thoughts, the way you treat people. Somehow I am known as a fashion-y lady. People remember my unique style. (I'm not being fatheaded, people really have told me that before.) I asked on my personal facebook if people would be interested in reading my opinions and thoughts on fashion in blog form and I got a positive response. Hence... Every Day is Your Runway was born.

2. What do you love the most about blogging??
I'm a people person. I really like to see the best in everyone and I'm kind of naive that way. I like having new followers. I like getting comments. I like being able to make new friends. I enjoy having a place to share my thoughts and have people I don't already know in real life like it. And that's the truth.

3. What are your 2 favorite posts you've written?
Tied:
Bullet Necklace Tutorial and Apple for the Teacher - DIY

Here I go - basically a how-to on thrifting - and my very first post

4. What is something you'd want to tell someone just starting out in blog world?
Well - I'm definitely no expert. I've had my little bloggy blog coming up on three years (My blog's third birthday is later this month!) I just got serious about it at the beginning of the summer and here are the things I've learned.

1. Being a no-reply blogger is no fun. Most bloggers like to communicate with their peeps. If we can't talk to you - you can't be our new bestie! What's a no-reply blogger? Well, I get all my comments sent to my e-mail. When I try to reply to them and there's no email address to reply to...that's a no reply blogger. Wanna know how to change it? Go here.

2. Spend some time making your blog pretty. You can learn a lot from Google. You can DIY a header, a button, a background, and all kinds of cool stuff. It's worth the effort. If you decorate it - they will come.

3. Participate in link-ups to get followers but don't ONLY do link-ups. That's boring and people want to read your original stuff too. Some of my favorites link-ups are Gentri Lee's Seven Questions on Wednesdays and Neely and Ashley's Sunday Social and Neely and Amber's It's Okay Thursdays.

4. Stay true to yourself and write about what you like. You can be "inspired by" other bloggers but if you compare yourself and try to be like them...you'll not be happy with what you write about.

5. Biggest blogging learning experience you've had?
'Member how I said to Google stuff to learn how to do it?  Yeah. I'm not a user of profanity but I almost became one while trying to learn how to make a blog background and header. I'm pretty sure my blog will stay this way forever because I'm currently too po' and too cheap to pay someone to design my blog. Plus - it took hours  upon hours upon daaaaaays to learn how to do this. You bettah red-neck-onize how cute this is because...dang it ya'll...it was difficult!

6. Give us 3 blogs we NEED to be following that you love.
Of course - I like my own blog - but since you're already here... how about some mo'? (p.s. this is really hard to choose only 3. I told you I like people.)

Heather at Cookies For Breakfast -  She is funny. She has a way cute son. She is really funny. She is honest. Even as a lady without a baby... I enjoy reading her blog posts about her son Benjamin and cool stuff she writes about like cloth diapers and making your own baby food. She's witty. Oh, did I mention she's funny? Plus....she writes back! Seriously... you'll love her!

Okay - so - Kandee Johnson just about makes me crap my pants every time she replies to a comment I leave her. She is a blogging rock star.  She is the person who inspired me to start my own youtube channel. Her personality is so bubbly. She's quirky, random, and inspirational. When her dad passed away earlier this year...she was so strong. I've never met her but she is so good about making her blog readers feel like they really know her and feel important. When I grow up, I want my blog to be a haven like Kandee's.

When Mine Became Ours is another fun one. She wears cute outfits. Writes cute things about her and her husband. Writes funny tales of her day-to-day life. I especially enjoy her Awkward & Awesome posts. She occasionally has delicious recipes. It's a hodge podge of awesome! Now...time to visit!

Since I know you in real life, I can say that I can totally picture you saying these answers. You are too cute on your blog! :) Also, I will try to be better about being a no reply blogger. :)

I love the name of your blog, and that would have been an awesome tagline for a line of clothing! I agree--people really are always watching you how you speak, act, and look, and we really have to be aware of that as Christians, especially!

Awwww thank you! Makin' me blush over here, and Benny too! Actually, he's really just chewing the couch, but I'm sure he's happy about the shout-out :)
